RULES AND REGULATIONS
Use of Linden Shore District Beaches and Shorefront
MEMBERSHIP: The LSD Membership is a deeded right and includes properties in the geographic area of 65 Linden Ave through 291 Linden Ave, excluding 275 Linden Ave. It also includes properties on the following roads: Bayberry Lane to the salt marsh, Pawson Road to the salt marsh, Maltby, Door & Hemingway Streets, Old Pawson Road, Pawson Landing Drive, Linden Place, 1 & 2 Fenway Road, Montgomery Parkway and the condos at Linden Shores. Members are defined as property owners with deeded shoreline rights in the defined geographic area.
GUESTS: Members have the right to extend shorefront access to guests. Guests include full-time residents of homes in the defined geographic area, renters of homes in the defined geographic area and other individuals specifically invited by Members. Members are responsible for sharing the Rules and Regulations with Guests and assuring that the Rules and Regulations are followed.
GENERAL CONDUCT: LSD Members should all work together to keep our community safe and clean. You are expected to refrain from any activities which can be disturbing or disrespectful to others.
SMOKING: Smoking is not allowed.
BEACH PARTIES: No large gatherings may be held on LSD Property without the permission of the Board of the Linden Shore District. No parties may be held without adult supervision by a Member. Furthermore, such Member or Members will be responsible for the general conduct of the gathering and cleaning up after the party. Parties must end by 10:30pm unless otherwise approved by the Board of the Linden Shore District prior to the date of the event. The District member supervisor must submit an application, sign a “hold harmless agreement” and obtain event insurance prior to the date of the event protecting the Linden Shore District from liability.
STRUCTURES: No tents or structures of any kind may be erected on the LSD property without the permission of the Board of the Linden Shore District.
DOGS: Dogs are not allowed on the beaches, in the diving areas or in the water within the orange buoys. Dogs are to be “leashed” per the Town of Branford Ordinance. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET. Deposit dog waste in the trash baskets.
LITTER AND WASTE: Glass containers of any type are not allowed on the beaches. All litter should be placed in the trash receptacles which are provided in key areas: Meffert’s Pier stairway, Montgomery Park, Pebbly Beach and Little Beach. If these receptacles are full, please bring your trash home.
No golf balls or any type of foreign object, grass clippings or litter shall be put into the water of the Long Island Sound.
No dumping. Yard waste, including but not limited to, grass clippings, branches, leaves or plant trimmings should not be placed on the beaches or shorefront. Please dispose of these items through the services provided by the Town of Branford.
FIRES: Fires of any kind are not permitted on LSD property.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Alcoholic beverages are governed by Connecticut State Statutes on LSD property. No underage drinking or drinking games are allowed on LSD property.
DESIGNATED SWIMMING AREAS (as outlined by the orange buoys): No watercrafts (including but not limited to jet skis, rowboats, canoes, kayak and paddle boards), oars, kayak paddles or large swimming floats are allowed in the designated swimming areas.
No Lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk. Diving is not permitted.
Fishing is not allowed in the designated swimming areas.
KAYAKS AND OTHER WATERCRAFT: All kayaks must be registered with the LSD and will be assigned placement on a designated rack. Please see our web site for details. Do not leave kayaks on concrete, lawn or ramps.
No watercrafts or large swimming floats shall be left on the lawn.
PARKING AND VEHICLES: No parking is allowed anywhere on LSD property including grassy areas and along the sides of the road. No golf carts or other motorized vehicles are allowed on LSD property.
*Reminder – golf carts must be registered with the town. Drivers of a golf cart must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license.
BOAT RAMPS: Access to the boat ramps should not be blocked by umbrellas, beach chairs, coolers, etc.
PICNIC TABLES AND BENCHES: These are meant for picnicking, not towel storage, etc. Please be considerate of your neighbors.
